Muco-supported complete prosthesis
(denture)

A complete dental prosthesis, commonly called a “denture”, is used to replace all the missing teeth in a dental arch. It covers and rests on the gum, thus ensuring stability and retention during the chewing action.

It is recommended to remove the removable prosthesis every evening, brush it and disinfect it by soaking it in a suitable solution. This good habit helps reduce the risk of bacterial and fungal infections in the oral cavity. In addition, the gum will be healthier, firmer and more resistant to chewing pressure.

Complete edentulism is officially recognized as a physical disability by the World Health Organization. Muco-supported complete dentures provide chewing function equivalent to approximately 20% of that of a complete natural dentition. The use of dental implants in completely edentulous individuals provides a marked improvement in chewing function, thereby enhancing overall health, confidence and self-esteem.
